UCCE is conducting a nationwide survey on cycling infrastructure in Ukrainian cities

Ukrainian Center for Cycling Expertise is conducting a nationwide survey on cycling infrastructure in the major Ukrainian cities. 45 cities with population over 100 000 inhabitants were selected to participate in the study.

The purpose of this survey is for the first time to gather and compile information on the status of bicycle infrastructure in major cities of Ukraine. It also looks at willingness and readiness of local authorities to create favorable conditions in the cities for bicycle transportation. The survey is divided into several blocks: city’s attitude to cycling, presence or absence of strategic documents that consider cycling as a mode of transport, current state of cycling infrastructure and promotion of cycling implemented by the municipality or the community.

The results will be published in Ukraine and will be presented at an international conference Velo-City Global in Canada in June 2012.
